About ResidencyHome
Healthcare runs on people who move: travel nurses on 13-week contracts, new grads starting their first job, students on rotations, residents and fellows starting and finishing training, physicians and clinicians changing hospitals. The same homes near the same hospitals change hands again and again, yet most of those moves still go through agents, listing sites built for someone else, or group-chat word of mouth.
Why we built it
ResidencyHome was started by Sam Rosas, an orthopedic surgeon, who saw how much time and money healthcare workers lose every time they relocate: commissions when selling a home to the next person coming in, and, worse, colleagues targeted by fake listings, deposit scams and predatory middlemen because they were signing from out of town on a deadline. The goal is a close-knit community where people in healthcare deal directly with each other, with verification and reporting tools that make scams harder.
What we believe
- Healthcare workers help each other. The nurse finishing an assignment or the resident leaving a program knows the commute, the parking and the neighborhood.
- Trust should be visible. Verified badges show who confirmed a school, hospital email or license, and anyone can report a bad actor. We're upfront that not every member is verified.
- No commission on your home. We don't take a cut of your sale or lease.
- Fair housing for everyone. Listings describe homes, not people. We follow Equal Housing Opportunity principles.
What we're not
ResidencyHome is not a real estate brokerage, lender, background-check service or law firm, and isn't a party to any agreement between members. We can't guarantee any listing or member. For purchases, we encourage using a real estate attorney, inspection and title insurance.
